In-Person Trainings
I offer in-person trainings for therapists and other helping professionals who want to deepen their understanding of nuanced and high-masking neurodivergence and create more accessible, neurodivergent-affirming services.
Trainings bring together lived experience, neurodivergent community knowledge, clinical and assessment experience, and research, with plenty of space for questions, discussion, and exploration of practical application.
My Approach To Training
-
My in person trainings focus on nuanced and high-masking experiences of neurodivergence and neurodivergent-affirming therapeutic practice. We’ll move beyond observable presentation to consider internal experience, masking and compensation, dynamic capacity, disability, relationships, and the ways neurodivergence can shape someone’s experience of therapy.
-
My trainings draw from neurodivergent lived experience and community knowledge, my clinical and assessment work with high-masking neurodivergent adults, and research and clinical literature.
I approach this work as an AuDHD person who is also a clinician, with an emphasis on curiosity, collaboration, de-pathologizing neurodivergence, and questioning assumptions about what functioning, progress, and therapeutic success are supposed to look like.
-
These are interactive trainings rather than lecture-only presentations. I incorporate questions, discussion, examples, reflection, and opportunities to think about how the material applies to your own work.
There is no expectation that you participate in a particular way. You are welcome to listen, take notes, ask lots of questions, or engage in discussion as much or as little as works for you.
-
My trainings are designed primarily for therapists and other helping professionals interested in better understanding neurodivergence and creating more accessible, affirming services.
You do not need to specialize in neurodivergence, have advanced training in ADHD or autism, or be neurodivergent yourself to attend. Specific intended audiences and any prerequisites will be listed with each workshop.
-
I try to make the training itself reflect the neurodivergent-affirming practices we’re discussing. You are welcome to move, stand, fidget, change seats, take breaks, step out, eat or drink, and participate in ways that support your body and nervous system.
Fidgets will be available, breaks are built into the day, and questions can be asked aloud or submitted in writing. You’re also welcome to contact me ahead of time about accessibility needs. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis or disability.
I bring my lived experience as an AuDHD person and my clinical experience, curiosity, and humor into trainings that leave room for complexity, questions, and open conversation.
